Unhappy car wont start!!!

ok so...tonite at the tracks...after my second run my car just stalled out...and now i cant start it.

hmm...i thought the engine couldve been flooded...i pulled the fuel pump fuse and cranked engine...lotta fuel came out my exhaust...but it still wouldnt start up all the way...

so i towed car home, changed the plugs, checked to see if it was flooded...i dont think it was anymore though...

and it still doesnt start...

current mods are...street port, 1300cc secondaries, supra fuel pump, power fc, pfs intercooler and intake, downpipe, hiflow cat, racing beat exhaust, silicone vac lines

and i just put some ngk plugs in o_O

maybe its my power fc?...or my other friend said maybe one injector got stuck open

any help would be appreciated...

thanks

Check for a blown main fuse (130A). It's located next to the battery.

Yep, thats the IACV, all it does is control how much air bypasses the throttle body, dI don't know how it would cause the car to not start, unless it's stuck closed and there isn't enough air going through the throttle plates to keep the car started. It's a long shot and it's probably not the problem.

well i think its stuck closed...everytime i try to start the car the engine will flood...so me and my friend was thinking theres prolly not enough air

checked for spark, that was good, more than enough fuel...and everything else seems to be working ok...other night i was able to kick start the car...but then it would just die out at idle.

i just gotta find a replacement and try it out i guess

I had similar symptons when my engine blew. Check for compression. Very similar story to yours died at the track, had it towed home. Had fuel, spark tried to pop start and it would try to idle and die. Found apex seals in the exhaust mani and had no compression

ah...well ill try check compression...i was able to kick start it though...and the engine sounded fine...just that when i slowed down to pick up my timeslip it died...was able to start it with the key that time...and drive it a lil more...started once later at the tracks when i was trying to unflood the engine...was revving fine...then i stopped to put fuse back in...couldnt start it again...

changed the plugs later that night next day started once with a low idle for a few seconds then died.

never had that buzzing noise before till that day

lol...weird...my car died mid track...restarted when rolling. stopped to get my timeslip it died. Started back up but rough...short distance later it died and wouldn't start. I also had thoughts it was flooded. The motor was fried, not to scare you just sharing my experience which was so close to yours its scary. Do a compression check, cheap and easy to eliminate a possibility

Oh cool...didn't know that was you, man. Just let me know when it's cool to come over...I don't have anything to do. If you need a lift or something, we could always go to Hickam and I could get you in there. Tons of specialty tools, etc, I believe, although I haven't been there since 97.

I don't know where you live..but I'm sure it's easy. Let me know what's up...I'll gladly come over and make you feel smarter.

You can also practice using your compression tester on my engine, as well.

Have you checked your MAP sensor? Not only to make sure it's connected (which it probably is) but to make sure it is functioning correctly. Mine went bad and caused my engine to flood every time. No deflooding procedure helped.

Just a thought.

the picture you had was the tps, throttle position sensor. It won't cause your car not to start at least in my experiences. Another member had told me there is a white dot on it to show you how it's supposed to be aligned and sure enough it does. If their is no dot on yours, don't mess with it unless you absolutely have to, their a bitch to get adjusted correctly once misaligned. Are you sure each individual coil packs are firing, if even 1 does not fire your car may not start.
