Does the motor turn over? If it doesnt, can u hear the starter trying to engage? It will sound like tic tic tic tic tic. If not then your battery is probably just completely drained lacking power to run the starter.

get those jumper caples on there. Make sure that battery has plenty of juice in it.
So hook up the caples, start the other car, and let the other car charge your battery for a few min, then try firing it up.

Could be flooded too. If you start the motor and then turn it off really quickly (like within a couple a minutes) it'll flood.
Is it a manual? Try push starting it, that cured my flood problem.

Yeah, put it in first or second, hold the clutch in, get it rolling like 5-10 mph, downhill helps a lot. Then let the clutch out, and it should start right up. Drive it for a little while after just to make sure everything is all good.
If it's flooded, it'll smoke outta the exhaust for a little while, don't worry about it, just drive till the smoke is gone.
When mine flooded, we actually had to push it with another car. We put a couch cushion between a Ford Aerostar and my back bumper and made contact very very slowly. Then pushed slowly. We had no other way to get it rolling fast enough. It was embarrasing, but it worked.

oh ****...but i think it's def the battery cuz i can't rem starting the engine and quickly turning it back off....it's just a chug chug chug so it's prob not a starter issue...my terminals are fairly clean and no sign of leakage from the battery...i checked the main fuse and the wire doesn't have any burnt signs....hoping the cables will solve the issue.

Oh wait, you said CAN'T remember turning it on and back off, i thought you said can...
Well try it anyway, it can't hurt it to have it running. If it is the battery, it'll charge it up. Unless it's the alternator. In which case it'll probably not start anyway.
