BC Car will not start

i have a 93 rx7 JDM and i was ripping around, i punched it in 2nd gear and it was trying to go but it felt like something went then the car just died. 106,000km

When i try to start it, it wants to turn over and the exhaust even back fires some time but the engine just will not fire. We dropped the fuel tank to check the pump but when we tested it all was good. Fuel pressure also looks good. All relays and fuse's are also good. Pulled the plugs to see and they were wet and looks like it got flooded, but probably form trying to start it every so often. we cleaned the plugs and placed them back. It still wont start. Any ideas what it might be?

We were talking to another guy who owned one at one point and he mentioned something about the timing on the rx7 needs to be checked and replaced very often because it might slip and cause the plugs to fire at the wrong time, and therefore it floods and does not start. does anyone think this sounds right.

You don't have a timing belt! Also, it's not worth it to clean the plugs. In my experience I have cleaned them and it didn't help at all. Then I went and bought new plugs and she started right up.

Where in BC?.
Who imported it.
Take out your plugs and crank it over, with the fuel relay out. What sounds does it make. Does it sound like a train? CH-CH-CH-CH?
And as these boys say....there is not timing belt, or anything to slip.

1) Check that the Map sensor vaccume line didn't come off.

2) De-flood the car by pulling the fuel pump relay and the egi fuse. Crank the car for 10 seconds and replace the relays/fuses. Then try to start it again

3) Do a compression test.

One of those three will either tell you whats wrong or was the problem.
