car tips

Hey everyone,
My rx7 has been in storage for five months for the winter. I really need some tips as to what to do for the car before I start it up for the first time. I don't want to damage anything. I changed the oil already. Is there someway to prime the engine or something?

Thank you for your help!

battery...definetly.

also, chances are it'll be real sluggish in starting...old dirty fuel lines and what not. do yourself a favor and be CAREFUL when starting it. you start pumping the gas, you're gonna flood her. and that's even more work on your hands

i was in the same spot about a month ago. my car had been in the shop for just about 4 months...and when we came to start it, the guy pumped the gas, and flooded the engine.

With that long, I have heard a bunch of people talking about pouring ATF fluid into the LIM??? to lube it, since everything is down at the bottom by now.

I'm not qualified to answer that, BUT i wanna say I READ a thread about that before, and the reply was it is done, but has never been substantiated as actually effective...

i also heard people use brake fluid in the engine to help w/ oil/gasket leaks and even compression loss, more in piston engines tho. Also never substantiated

por15 is the best rust stopping paint ive ever used... it fades so its not good for a nice finish, but ive never had any problems with rust anywhere ive used it... it wont come off your skin tho so beware
