car tips
Hey everyone,
My rx7 has been in storage for five months for the winter. I really need some tips as to what to do for the car before I start it up for the first time. I don't want to damage anything. I changed the oil already. Is there someway to prime the engine or something? Thank you for your help! wolf |
you havent started it in 5 months????? thats not good
hope it was in a heated storage at least!
If it was in the cold, poor car...
watch out for you battery .... 5 months. whoa...
battery...definetly.
also, chances are it'll be real sluggish in starting...old dirty fuel lines and what not. do yourself a favor and be CAREFUL when starting it. you start pumping the gas, you're gonna flood her. and that's even more work on your hands i was in the same spot about a month ago. my car had been in the shop for just about 4 months...and when we came to start it, the guy pumped the gas, and flooded the engine. |
With that long, I have heard a bunch of people talking about pouring ATF fluid into the LIM??? to lube it, since everything is down at the bottom by now.

Also never substantiated |
break fluid scares me... it ate the paint off my engine compartment... the paint was por15 if that gives anyone a clue.
por15? what's that?
what is break-fluid ???
por15 is the best rust stopping paint ive ever used... it fades so its not good for a nice finish, but ive never had any problems with rust anywhere ive used it... it wont come off your skin tho so beware :)
