Car makes pop noise after shift

I have found my car only does this under one condition. When I go to let the clutch out between gears, if I give it extra gas than usual and usually let the clutch out with at least 80% throttle I hear a pop noise from the back of my car. It doesnt do this if I drive normaly, nor does it do it if I'm romping around and actually trying to shift correctly. Only way I can get it to pull this off is giving it too much gas when I let off the clutch and then usually coming close to flooring it.

My friend things I have something loose on my rear end. Does that sound right?

I thought it was backfiring this whole time. My friend told me it could be the differential loose. Just wondering if he could be right or not.

get under the car and check the PPF for cracks. It is possible that it is jumping around. However you normally have the shifter trying to jump into the passengers lap before it gets too bad.

Look for cracks where it ( the PPF) bolts to the diff. and the tranny. pretty common on hard driven cars.( dragged high Rpm shifts etc...)

Also you have the PFC correct? Could you be hitting the rev limiter. It tends to pop loudly when hit

You can check to see what your limiter is set at on the commander.
