reason I am asking is that I am thinking of buying this car but sometimes I look at it and like it, and sometimes I am not sure. Never seen this kit before...

This is the sellers spec for the engine:

1994 R2, 299000 miles

Tuned by RE Amemiya. Uprated Twin Turbo’s (RE Amemiya). Ignition amp. HKS intercooler hard pipes. Water Injection system. OS Giken twin plated clutch. Uprated Oil Coolers. ARC induction kit, RX7 strut brace, uprated rear exhaust section. After market HT leads. MU brake pads. The whole system is mapped by Re Amemiya at 1.2 bar boost.

From the thumbs it looks awesome, but when you enlarge the pics I dont know if I like those headlights as much. The wing is pretty rediculous looking from the rear though...

 

True about the wing. At is definitely coming off if I buy the car. Prefer it with no wing

 

Headlights have to go, beside they are aerodynamically unsound.

sounds like you want an opinion on the outside. if so here is mine:

1) hate the front
2) hate the rear spoiler
3) the rest of the body looks to be in really good condition
4) like the wheels although i prefer something with a lip in the rear
5) paint looks great

There's some momey spent on it. Knightsports rear wing, nice wheels (assuming good size), R-Magic front end conversion, forgot who makes the side skirt kit with fender flares. Make shure the engine is ok. Also, even though it's fixed up you may end up changing things afterwards.

 

Those are the ugliest headlights i have ever seen... otherwise everything else looks cool even the wing (compared to the HL's)!

 

Yea, I'd look into the cost and sourcing of a Stock front end, looks like he had to chop the stock pop-up covers?

Fix the front end, take off the wing, ask for the stock rims (or buy it with those black/blue ones and sell em) and its a nice MBM solid bodied car.

Just gonna be a (*#&$@ (or just $$$$) to fix the holes in the rear hatch when the wing is gone and de-ghey-ify the front end.

Sideskirt/Flare combo isn't that bad.

 

OMG, I didnt know Mazda made the Sunfire....

That is horrible.... if the front end is replaced with OEM or 99+ OEM than it would be a lot better. I prefere the 'no wing' look as well, so that'd have to go.

yep the ugliest headlights and wing ever. wingless is the way to go. how could a headlight kit f*@k the looks up that bad. WOW!! has a lot of $$$$ put into it on parts. I would say NOT, but to each its own. its funner building the car than anything.

Except for the body kit, wheels, wing, headlights, and the way the front license plate is mounted... I like it.

 

Did they happen to mention exactly how much power the car was making with those mods @ 1.2 bar boost?

Sorry but my constructive criticism would be to remove the body kit. It looks really bad. Haha, but that's just my opinion, and apparently the opinion of the rest of the people here. Still a good car though. Beauty is only skin deep (except in this case the uglyness). What's inside counts. Just make sure the engine and everything works.

 

Yes RHD. I am in the UK. The car has just come from Japan.

Powerwise I dont know but should be pretty powerful. If I get that far I will ask him to have it compression tested and dynoed.

Judgin by the feedback so far looks like I will be puttin the Cwest bumper on which is in my garage... :-)

 

NOT!!! What's wrong with the FD the way it came? Stock body R1 HOT!

 

Get it, pull all the body kit junk off and sell it. Then use the money to get 99+ front bumper and stock headlights.

Not and 1.2 bar (like 17.6 psi) on what fuel and intercooling mods? What octane gas is being ran? The boost seems way too high for the mods it's got. Mabe 12 psi (like .8 bar) but not 1.2 bar, that just sounds way too high for the mods listed.

I like it except for the front. The wing isn't too bad if you ask me.
