car died pressing in the clutch, now no start

First track day of the year, and my first in the 7... i have to say im impressed! well only kinda because mine lived up to the unreliable reputation...

After my 4th session pulling into the pits the car is running great till i press in the clutch and it instantly goes dead. I cannot get it restarted, it will crank almost endlessly but wont catch at all. After checking several things I know i have even compression across both rotors (pulled plugs and cranked with my fingers on the holes crude but it should rule out the apex seals), i have spark, and im getting fuel... my guess is electronics but where should i start looking. also i have a powerFC so no codes to pull. Oh the one other thing that might be of value, since i bought the car ive had an idle surge, about 1000-1500 rpm but it would usually settle down to a steady idle after about 5 surges.

any ideas of where to start with this would be great.

That's not quite true. One of the first symtoms of the switch failing is that the car stalls when pressing the clutch pedal. However, it doesn't keep the car from refiring.

Good to know

Im gonna check the IACV and anything else i can relate to the idle surge... Im not sure its gonna let me restart the car but at least it should fix the surge when i do get it started....

I don't buy the clutch switch stuff. I've had mine disconnected for over a month. When someone here suggest it had something to do with stalling. The only change was that my cruise control doesnt disengage. Which seem to indicate to me the switch is working fine.

I also suffer from frequent but intermittent bouncing idle problems above 85C.

UPDATE: Did a compression test with a regular tester. Im getting even yet low compression across both rotors. the pulses touch 20psi on all 6 faces. Seems real low to me but in my defence im over 3000' of elevation, the motor is dead cold, all the oil is getting washed away with fuel, 3mm apex seals, and a large streetport... so all of that in mind i think the important part is the even numbers. Oh not to mention before any of this happened i was only pulling 8"hg at idle and the motor was healthy.

I have even compression.

I have spark on all plugs.

Im getting alot of fuel in the motor...

One thing that confuses me is at the track i hade the plugs out to check compression pulses with fingers and it felt even but didnt fire. Tonight i forgot to put one of the plugs back turned the motor over and was getting shots of flame out the open plughole... put the plugs back turn the key and endless cranking.

My current theory is im getting so over fueled that its flooding the motor as soon as the fuel pump is run... basically an injector is stuck open... Is that a possibility?

After thinking about how i did the compression last night i have some question of its accuracy... I was holding the pressure relief valve in that is pre-gauge in the assembly. So im guessing that ill still see even pulses but also much higher numbers when i re do it.
