Car decision

hey, i need some help in deciding what car i want

heres the cars im lookin at:

93-95 Rx-7
2003 Rsx type s
00-02 Mr-s
01-02 WRX

i'll mostly be using the car to drive back and forth to work and to have fun with on the weekends, i'm also planning on autoxing, so which do you think is the best choice?

i also had another question, i know of the reliability problems with the fd, but how good of a daily driver would it be with the reliability mods from Rob Robinette's site -->http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobi...eliabiltiy.htm

thanks

While tehre are exceptions... for a daily driver, get the RSX... or WRX....

If I could afford it, I'd be all over the WRX

If you're planning on auto-xing, the FD or the WRX.

if looks doesn't matter to you, then get the WRX. But if you do get the WRX and decide to track it, be ready to get spanked hard by FDs.

i hear that the rsx is ***** as hell
the mr-s has a rock solid bottom end and handles like a go-cart with suspension mods
the wrx is played out and subaru tranny's have never done well
and the rx7 is the sweetest car on the planet
go with the fd
or put a turbo on the mr-s

WRX since you plan to use the car to drive back and forth to work as well as everything else.

If you have to ask then you don't need an RX-7.

My friends mom has a WRX. I'ts a sweet car! It's fast as hell, has a turbocharger in it. (Which kicks in fully at about 50-60) Comfortable ride, really fast. Get a 5 spd. though. and the blue ones look cool as hell. really, really, really fun to drive. I would reccomend the WRX above all else. Really solid car. Have fun with it.

It depends on your budget. Mostly I suggest WRX or STI, and EVO VIII. Both can be a monster after mod. Becareful, I heard lots of WRX voided the warranty because of ppl mod incorrectly(its from a CA's Subaru mechanic). If FD is one of your choice that mean you like turbo's power. MRS and RSX will make you disappoint but you may save some money for gasoline. Also, FD needs much time and money to maintain. Anyway,

Here is a web site that for used RX7 buyer:

Might I suggest an Evo VIII? A buddy of mine got his for MSRP and it is an awesome car... with the stock Advan tires it handles better than my Touring on inherited Shitlin all seasons (thanks, previous owner), but seats five quite comfortably. It, like the WRX, is a dog from a roll though, but would do quite well in auto-x (better than the sluggish handling of the WRX).

Seriously, people, going to an RX-7 forum and trying to ask for a impartial opinion?

i agree, but the evo and sti are too expensive, im wanting to stay below 25k if i can, ive found 00-02 wrx's for around 18k and up, mr-s's from 15k and up, the only advantage of getting a rsx type-s is it would be a brand new car that no one has messed with

My good friend has a WRX, and he is hestiant to autox the thing because of the "glass" tranny they come stock with (expect a broken one if you don't replace it). WRX, RSX, STI, and the EVO are good for daily drivers, as they should all come with warranties. Track-wise, get the FD, STI, Supra, or EVO. A little bit of modding and you'll be flying .

BTW, I saw some RSX's run in SCCA, and IMO, they look fun to drive but not too impressive speedwise.

If I had to make a decision about a single car (<25k) for both road and track... I'd get an RSX or WRX. However, to keep the warranty intact, you'd have to make conservative mods.

What about the SRT-4? I think that'd be my choice for under $25k

i thought about it for a little bit, but my friend has one, and i was not impressed, yes very fast and nimble, but the quality is not there, very cheaply made, and most dodges break down in a few years, and if im goin to spend that much on a car i want to keep it for longer than a few years

A sports car like the FD, is not the best for daily driving. Besides reliability, you will be paying insane amounts of money for fuel, which is what most people neglect to mention. The FD can be made to be reliable, but it's honestly not the most practical car, though people do daily drive them (including me). If your aim is to get back and forth, while having a bit of fun, with the least amount of expense, all while remaining reliable, I would go with the RSX-S. Though not the best, it's a great car in all areas.

I think you should go with the 93-95 RX7 or a 93-95 MR2 Turbo. The MR2 would be cheaper and it also has just about a bomb proof engine, there sweet and fast.
Im still desiding on what to get also,my choices are 93-95 RX7 or the 94-95 MR2 Turbo. No matter what you pick I think you will be pleased with your ride if you get one of these two rare vehicles.Get what you want dont let anyone make you change your mind, its your car your descision.

Good choice. Glad to see someone finally thought out their options and chose what was right for them, unlike the guy above.
