Can you gunk up ISC?

Just a quick question. I have a washable air filter element. After it is dry, you are supposed to spray a special oil on it. Is it possible to overspray the stuff and gunk up your ISC over time?

They get carbon on them and you can just spray it with carb clean. Dale Clark has a write up on it. Its highly unlikely the filter oil has done it.

Thanks. Yes, I saw Dale's write up. It's quite useful. I was wondering what would cause deposits like that.

It blow by from the oil filler tube. Just one of those things. If you put in a catch can it will cut down on the carbon.

Also if you have a PFC you can just take it off and block it.

It's beginning to sound like a PFC is the "next to ultimate" mod for my car. Getting rid of the downpipe still has to be the best thing I ever did to it, but it is beginning to sound like a PFC will go quite a distance keeping the car in tune. Thanks for all the info.

The PFC is pretty awesome but it has its own unique set of quirks(in the true spirit of the Rx7)
