Can i use this?

My brother use to have a v-afc for his honda. I was wondering if i could put it to use, its the newer version the v-afc 2. Can i use it to tune? Or do i still need to go out and by a wideband for tuning?

The Apexi AFC family is just not that usuable on it's own with the FD. They can be handy for fine tuning a rechipped ECU. However, by the time you buy a rechipped ECU and the AFC, you are pretty much almost at PFC level which is what you really want if you are going to be doing any tuning.

oh ok, well i have a pfc anyway. Just wanted to see if i could do anything with that! cause its iam geting his defi gauges off him so i figured i might check and see if i could use the other stuff to. So would i still need a wideband to tune? Also do i need datalogic to tune? Assuming iam going to get it dyno tuned, then who ever does it will have the software right? cause i really cant afford that ****!

IMO, regardless if someone else tunes the car and has the equipment, you should have all that equipment yourself if you are going to own a programmable ECU (as you'll never know when you'll want/need to fine tune changes yourself).

I agree. Having a Power FC is a great upgrade, but until you get the Datalogit to compliment it, you only really have half the package.

Technically no, you would not need these things in order to get tuned, assuming the person tuning your car has the A/F capabilities (sniffer) to do so. Still, a wideband is a very important mod to have.
