Can the engine harness be pulled out with the engine in the car?

I've been nonseq with no emissions, and all of the extra wiring and connectors are just taped up under the UIM. I want to take out all of the extra stuff that I don't need. So can the engine harness be pulled out with the engine still in?

Ok nevermind. That was ridiculously easy. I pulled off the UIM and disconnected every connector except for the one next to the transmission in like 15 minutes. Now I just have to pull it through the firewall which looks like a PITA since the ABS is right there.

Unless you have a very good reason for doing this, I wouldn't. You are going to massively restrict the pool of potential buyers when you sell the car. I would never buy a car with a hacked harness unless it was at fire sale prices. How will the car ever legitimately pass CA emissions for a start?

Good point.

Unbolt the ABS unit for a little extra room and have someone push the connectors up as you fish them out from the engine bay.

Yea, its easier if you have someone to help you. One of you pulls the harness while the other guides the harness and connectors through the hole in the firewall. Its kind of hard because of the ABS but it shouldnt take long. Just take your time and it will come right out.
