VA Oil drain plug

Guys -

I am changing my oil and can't recall if the removing the oil drain plug is counter clockwise or clockwise. Seemed pretty tight and didn't want to risk stripping the bolt.

Thanks.

No doubt a quickie lube place tightened it with an impact wrench.

I would make sure you do not have stripped threads.

99% of quick lube places only use hand tools.

A neat trick for breaking a drain plug lose is; grab the wrench with your left hand (if your right handed) put pressure on the plug the direction that you want it to turn (counter clock wise) and take your right hand make a fist. Then hit the hand that is pushing on the wrench the direction that you want to go. Most of the time the plug will "crack" and then it will be easy to losen.

Make sure to replace your drain plug gasket every time!
