This came off of my turbo

I was driving and all of a suden I had a boost leak, every time I gave it gas all I heard was the turbo spooling but I had zero power. I drove the car home like 20 miles but i kept it off of boost most of the time. I found the problem and it is a metal nipple that comes out of the turbo closest to the front. It connects to two vaccum lines that are red in the picture.
I was wondering if I can put this piece back in or do I need to weld it back on? I know this has happened to a couple of people but I couldn't find the thread.
The pictures are really crappy so I will take more tommorow.

You can not weld steel ( nipple) to aluminum ( the compressor housing ) . Clean the nipple and the housing hole and epoxy it back together . If you can drive a punch in to the nipple to spread it out alittle first ,that will help .

It's a common problem. Good job finding it though!.

JB Weld will definitely work for that. But as duboisr said you cannot weld steel to aluminum. But JB weld (glue) will definitely work.

Thanks for the info guys, so whats better EPoxy or JB weld I have both so which do you recommend.

Well I finally did it and used epoxy but the car seems very sluggish right now. What do those vaccum line do?
Could I have stuck the nipple in to deep. I put it in as far as I could.

how long did you let the apoxy dry for? what kind did you use? you didn't use any kind that is sort of rubbery or flexible did you.... you want it to bond very hard.

I let it dry for a day but it worked 'cuse I don't have don't hear the boost leaking any longer. I think the clutch was just slipping thats all. My Idle was really high though like 1200 when I left to school though.

That part of metal holds the two lines that go to teh actuators that control prespooling the second trubo, and your wastegate. (kind of important).

It is designed to go in until the "sholder" hits the turbo housing. In other words there is no such thing as "too far" unless you machine it.
