Caliper mounting hardware: Spirit R brakes vs. stock brakes

I searched the forum and did not find an answer. I am contemplating purchasing a set of Spirit R brakes for my FD. I would like to know if the mounting hardware that attaches the calipers to the hub assembly, both front and rear, will work for the Spirit R brakes or do the Spirit R brakes require different mounting hardware. Thanks in advance.

Last time I checked, Spirit R brakes are stock brakes

Am I missing something?

Spirit-R has 314mm discs front and rear compared to 294mm on a "normal" RX7. They use the same calipers but there is an extension bracket to allow for the additional disc diameter.

TypeRS and TypeRZ after 93(or 94, I forget) also have the larger discs and same caliper bracket extension.

I think it was around 99 or so but my memory isn't all that good... There are threads on the topic somewhere on here.

JDM RS/RZ cars got the big brakes early. My '96 RS has 314mm OEM brakes

I re-ran the search using different terms and came up with some useful threads. There was no indication that the mounting hardware for Spirit R calipers were different from the stock hardware. https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...rakes-1008609/ So, I would presume that since there was no chatter about installation issues that the stock hardware will work. Thanks all.

i think the 17" wheel brakes just had longer caliper ears and so mount to the same spindle with the same bolts. in the rear there is a different bracket for the caliper, but its the same spindle, and same caliper

This is correct.

I have spirit R front brake calipers (I repainted them since they were not in great condition). The rear just have a larger overbracket on the caliper.
