A/C removal?
Okay,well i've done endless amounts of searching and I just can't seem to come up with a good write-up for a/c removal for an FD,so I was wondering if anybody could help me out and direct me to a good write-up..And any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated as well.Thanks!

A/C removal is very simple, at least it was simple for me after the engine was removed.
I accidently disconnected the A/C lines and got freon gas all over the car and myself, but after that it's straight forward.
Remove the coolant frame, remove the metallic round box on the front, remove the A/C pump and finally remove the gas lines. No need to block them off at the firewall, just leave them open.

I'm out here in South Florida,and it gets HOT!But honestly,even if my a/c were working,I wouldn't use it other than when it rains,because I enjoy driving with the windows down..But the main reason for wanting to remove it is to make some space for a future FMIC.

Not sure about that actually..I will be going with a custom IC (Just buying the core and then having the piping fabricated) for a single turbo though,so I would just like to free up some extra space and I figured since I have no intentions on ever using it,I might as well remove it.

After disconnecting the A/C lines, there will be 4 bolts (12mm? I forget) on the driver's side. That's pretty much it.
You do not have to lift the motor to get off, but you will be working with a very tight area. I loosened the bolts just enough to angle the compressor off.

I did not plan on removing the A/C, but was clueless and disconnected it and leaked it all out, almost got a big bunch of it all over myself...
I live in Norway and hot weather is not that much of a big problem, but the FD heats up the car a lot. I do miss the A/C, but I think my car is better without it. Cleaner, more roomy engine bay, and the radiator gets more air. Using the A/C button to keep the fans running all the time now, so the coolant keeps 85C, but tomorrow FC-Datalogit arrives and I will program it to turn fans on at 87C.

I got rid of it when I ditched the AC (both didn't work, and the PS leaked horribly all over my engine). Also, without AC you lose the huge radiator blocker (condenser).

Hmm..And to add to my first stupid question,doesn't the loss of power steering make the car..Erm,more difficult to drive?As in..Doesn't the wheel become harder to turn?I'm trying to figure out a way to ask this without sounding like a complete idiot lol

FD's are fairly light and I don't notice any adverse effects of the looped PS. And I betcha I'm smaller than you are Some people (like me) LOVE no PS.
But, caveat, I don't think it's a good idea to remove it if you're going to Auto-X the car. You will not be a happy camper.
