A/C Not Working
Im trying to work out all the bugs with my FD. When I bought it, I noticed the a/c button washing light all the time. After I got a couple things fixed at Pettit, I noticed the a/c light doesnt come on anymore. I'm not saying they screwed anything up. It blows air, but it's air temperature, not cold. All the speeds work and the other button thats on the panel works and lights up properly. What can be the problem?

I took it to Pettit because my exhaust manifold was cracked and a few other minor things. Nothing with the a/c system. I mean the a/c button does not light up when i press it in. I'll start it up when I get home to check if the compressor kicks on.

I check the 15amp a/c fuse under the hood and it was fine. When I pressed the button, the clutch did not kick on. I know that means it's low, but why isn't the a/c button not lighting up? Is there any other fuses? Also, I looked through section g in the FSM. What is the sight glass? Maybe I missing that section. The manual was given to me with the car.

sight glass is a small window on your dryer...looks like a cannister connected to your A/C lines
You can check your a/c relay, 12V to your button. In some cars if the refrigerant is low the switch is killed so you can't burn up your compressor...not sure if this is the case with the FD a/c system.
If you are sure you are low I'd fix that first. May be in your best interest to see if there are any leaks in your system.
Check that sight glass in the FSM troubleshoot manual...it will be in the Body Electrical manual...not the regular workshop manual.

Well i checked the system and it's charged. I tried to test the connection of the compressor wire, I don't think it's getting power. I checked it with a volt meter but I'm not sure if I checked it properly. I think it's electrical. What should I try now?

Also should be noted...by your left foot on the driver side (LHD) is the fuse box. The fuse for Sunroof effects your AC. I have a non-sunroof FD and I removed this fuse thinking, "I don't have a sunroof" and my AC button promptly stopped lighting up/working. =)

Well somehow the connection got disconnected under the glove box. The light comes on now but no cold air. I still don't think the compressor is coming on. You said there's a sticky on the forum? I tried searching for it, but I cant find it. I'm dying with the Florida heat!!!! lol.
