A/C on, engine idles too low. Help?
With the power FC installed, i turn my A/C on and the engine idles at 500rpms. I figured no problem, it must be set wrong in the power fc. So i ordered the Commander, and i hook it up. It says that my car should idle at 900 with the A/C on. So i start uping then idle on it, and nothing happens. What is going on here? Could i have a bad sensor? Thanks..........Russell

Yes. If they're the same, when there is a load (A/C is a big one), it won't know to increase the idle. The other E/L is fans to 3, or parking lights, or headlights. If you have any of those on, does it idle correctly? If not, there's your problem.

First, connect the Idle Speed Control solenoid behind the throttle body. That is what controls the idle under load conditions such as a/c or electric.
Second, download and read the PFC manual from the Engine Management > PowerFC section on this site.
Third, check/adjust the idle settings. You probably want 850 regular idle, 870 electric and 950 a/c.
Fourth, check TPS voltages under the ETC menu and verify that they are in spec. Specs are in the factory service manual (FSM).
Fifth, do the full idle calibration on the PowerFC. Takes about 30 minutes. Let it idle w/o electric load for 10 minutes, idle with a/c on for 10 minutes, turn a/c off and turn defroster on for 10 minutes.
Search for idle fixes here. There are so many posts already. I just did the above procedure based upon the posts I found on here and my idle and throttle control is much better now.

Thanks...... I bought my PFC and commander at sperate times. Of course i bought my PFC first and it didn't come with instructions so i called the place and asked about it and they said that the instructions come with the commander when you buy it. Well i got the commander from the same place and the only instructions i have are the ones to operate the commander.

im gonna think outside of the box on this one. check that a/c condensor? (the silver can we always bend back and forth when doing some jobs above the radiator) see if either the two lines are kined badly.

if you want to check your ISC aka IAC you can pull it out and check amperage. the specs are listed in the FSM
