Buzzing sound while on boost
Buzzing sound while on boost
Hey guys,
Have an odd buzzing sound while on boost. I’m thinking it’s either that blitz controller which is well over 15 years old. Or the ICV. ICV has been cleaned and services though.
Car has just been tuned with good results.
Thoughts before I pull out that blitz unit as don’t require it anymore…
Single turbo

Turbosmart wastegate, eboost2, blow off valve.

Lol wtf
The sure fire way of knowing if it's the boost controller(s) is to turn them off so the car is on the wastegate spring and go for quick pull. If the noise is present you know that's not it. If the noise is gone, next up is to go for another run but this time with one of them on to see which one is your culprit. If it were me I'd try all combinations (all off, one on, the other one on, and both on) to make sure that I am 100,% that Ifound the culprit.

I have always had a similar thing on mine, it does sound like a solenoid cycling. Does the same with my boost controller (Apexi AVC-R) on or off. I think once I unplugged the ISC and it still did it.
I don't think it's anything to be concerned with at least. Most likely it's a solenoid cycling, you'd probably have to go through and one by one unplug things until you found it but it's possible it's something that HAS to be operational to drive the car under boost.
If you find out, post up, but again I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
