busted tach.

as the title says my tach is busted . so i called up malloy and got a quote for 681 for just the tach portion of the cluster..

wtf.. almost $700 for a tach.

so now im stuck with a busted tach...

what are my options?

i really dont want to resort to one of the 5in monster tachs.

If you want to do some work, you can always do an aftermarket replacement in the dash. This write-up doesn't have a tach replacement, but it does show the work involved in placing other gauges in the dash:

So, an option is to place an aftermarket tach in the dash, with some work.

I'm pretty sure I have an extra. You will need to take off the face and needle from yours and install it on the one I have. Pm me if you're interested and I will make sure I have it.

Or you can go w/ other OEM clusters, like say the 99spec, Spirit R, or aftermarket like the Mazdaspeed, RE Amemiya, etc etc

Any Tach will fix your problem

I went through the same thing and also used my FC to read rpms until one day I came up with a bright idea. I think someone has a tach in the for sale section as of Monday.
