Broken pipe (Vaccuum hose)

Hi, I need a serious tip out there.

While changing a broken hose, I had to remove the manifold. One of the hose was plugged in a one-way valve and a little pipe. I broke the little pipe. I really don't know what to do now.

1. We thought to glue a new pipe to the broken pipe...
2. We thought to simply block the hole.....

The pipe is made of plastic or something like that (No, it is not made of metal). Very small hole, would be hard to glue.

On the second picture, we see the hose that is plugged at the same place of the "little broken pipe".
On the third one, we see the "little broken pipe".

Any help would really, really be appreciated.

i did the exact same thing. to do it right, your gonna have to replace the solenoid. pulling the rats nest the first time(assuming) can be intimidating. while its out theres a bunch of stuff you should do...vac hose job, check valves to name a couple.

buy a few used solenoids in the classifieds.

edit: am i seeing things? it looks like both the check values on the right are broke too?
edit2: and the one at the top of the pic?? lol, i must be seeing things.

You just broke the plastic hose nipple off the "Double Throttle" solenoid as it is the only one of the eight with a plastic one way valve. You will either need to remove the "Rat's nest" vacuum rack and replace the solenoid or cap off the solenoid and remove the Double Throttle body...both of which are a bit of work.

A new solenoid will run $58 U.S. plus shipping or more depending where you get it. Used ones can be had for much less. If you go for new parts, call Ray Crowe, Parts Manager at Mallory Mazda (888.533.3400)...mention this forum...best prices and fast shipping. While you are at it, you might as well replace all the vacuum hoses, one-way valves and check all the solenoids for proper function...you will not want to go back in there again. It is not very difficult, just time consuming and like a puzzle. Take a picture of every move...you will not regret it. Sit down and think about how many things you want to replace (= how much $$$ your got to spend) as this is your one big chance to get at things. Trust me, just don't jump into this...you can...but you might wish you had replaced other stuff while you have it apart.

If you do not have the service manual and also want further guidance...go to the FAQ section at the top of this forum and down load the manual and look under "V" for "vacuum hose replacement". Download the color version of the "Vacuum Hose Routing Diagram", it is worth its weight in gold.

Hope you have long skinny arms and fingers and your wounds heal fast ;-)

Damn it man...it's too cold up there to be wrenching...no wonder the damn thing broke...frozen!!!
