Broken Air Pump
I've got a broken air pump in my FD and I was wondering if anybody other than Mazda sells them. I ask because when I called my local Mazda dealer they wanted $1275.41 for a little piece of crap air pump. Normally I would just run my car without it but I need to have the car smogged so it can be registered. Or if somebody can rebuild it that would be great. I would try to do this myself but I haven't found any replacement parts for it and as far I know, Mazda only sells it as a unit and doesn't offer replacment parts. Any help would be great so please give me any info you can on this. Thanks a lot.

Local dealer quoted $1000.00 for it. Damn thing is half the price of a reman. Unf*cking believable. I had it replaced under warranty plus I bought a really low miles one for the future.
Alternative is to run GM electric airpump from a Camaro or Corvette but they do not last long due to the constant on cycle when below 3000 rpm.
