Breaking in a new clutch?

Breaking in a new clutch?
What exactly should you do to insure a good break in? I know about 800-1000 miles but how should I drive during this period of time? I have been keeping it under 4k rpms in 1st and under 3k in every other gear with minimal boost. Only reason I ask is bc i just read that this sort of driving is bad for the motor. Any help please!

A clutch doesn't really need a true break in. Just don't drive it hard and try to stay off the highway for like 50 miles. Do city driving cause on the highway you are in a high gear and giving it gas and letting off is hard on the clutch.

Sorry I did not specify...ACT street/strip with a 9.5# aluminum flywheel. Both items are brand new.
Like Gsrsol said, drive it around town for the first 50-100 miles and just take it easy.. no hard driving and especially no hard launches. After that you should be good to go, its like when you get some new brake pads you don't want to go out and accelerate up to 150mph and then stomp on the brakes first thing.

Ya, I have the ACT street/strip also and I gave it about 50 miles break in and it's still holding up strong after 15k miles.
Since you have a lighter flywheel take it easy from a dead stop and try your hardest not to slip it.

I just installed the same combo as you, the ACT SS Clutch w/lighten RB flywheel. The ACT documentation said break in for 200 - 300 miles using "mild driving".
Some peoples mild driving is my beating on it, so the "mild driving" statement ACT makes is rather broad in my opinion.
I would say no racing, no dyno, light-medium acceleration for the first 200-300 miles, then let her rip...
