There is only one bov, the other is the crv. In theory, u can use an after market bov for both of them, it will certainly sound cool with both bov and crvs going off.

Charge Relief Valve. It functions similar to the bov but opens on a different part of the boost cycle.

I have a question. I disconected the BOV hose from the air box to make it sound like an aftermarket BOV. It Sounds real good, very loud. Now,.. What hapens when you disconnect the other hose?

Basically the same thing will happen, both the bov and crv are one way vacuum controlled valves designed to release excess boost pressure.

Some people claim the BOV will suck in air while closed. But I have never experienced that.. If you're concerned, you can take one of those K&N crankcase vents and attach it to the end where the BOV expels air, but keep in mind that the filter will muffle the sound somewhat. You'd be best off using some kind of tester (smoke, string, your finger, whatever) to tell if it is sucking in air. Your car can be stationary, just pull the revs up and see what it does.

The BOV is cylindrical object closest to the airbox. You can unplug the hose from the airbox. But make sure you plug up the hole in the aibox, otherwise, your engine will be taking in dirty air. I found a doorstopper type object that I plumbed over the hold and it works great for me. I think a generous wrapping of electrical tape would do the job.

the hose "on top" of what is unplugged in the picture is the CRV.You can unplug that as well, if you wish. Again, just make sure you plug up the holes in the airbox.

(and yes, my engine bay is much cleaner now.)

Another thing to keep in mind, is that sometimes, the BOV will spit out some oil. It happened to me once at an autocross. It was quite a mess, but it really hasn't done it since. I've been told it's nothing to worry about if it does spit out oil.

My car made a sucking noise when I unplugged the BPV and CRV hoses from the airbox (yes I plugged the box), so I installed 2 one-way check valves on the ends of each hose. the stopped the sucking and gave me awesome sounding "PSHHHH" noises whenever I let off of the throttle. MY WARRANTEE COMPANY SAYS THOSE VALVES WERE "BLOCKING TURBO LINES, THEREFORE RAISING BOOST PRESSURE!" One of my coolant seals is now bad, and they say that they won't repair/replace the engine because it was probably running higher boost. CAN ANYONE THINK OF ANY REASON WHY THOSE VALVES WOULD HAVE HAD ANY EFFECT ON BOOST LEVELS. I THINK MY WARRANTEE CO. IS SMOKING CRACK, CUZ THOSE VALVES DUST HELP MAKE A CLEARER "PSHHH" NOISE! The DYNO numbers were the same before and after too! PLEASE respond with any comments, questions or ideas!
THANKS, Kevin (KEMRX7@aol.com / AIM--->KEMRX7)

The repair manual says that unpluging the bov will increase fuel consuption a bit since the discharge air from the bov is sort of recycled into the air box and is measured by the air flow meter(something like that- dont have the manual in front of me).
I did unplug the bov for a while and did notice less miles per tankful but aside from that, nothing negative. The sound is cool but i plugged it back on(was just curious).
The oil mentioned is normal, just like the oil in the intercooler(thin film) it just comes from the turbo...
Hope this helps a bit, i know the repair manual thing is not clear/accurate but since it shouldn't be a concern, I didn't bother looking it up.
