Boost transistion problem since midpipe

Since I installed a midpipe, my boost seems to "REALLY" come alive above 5000 rpm or so. The car pulls ok up to then and then...wam! it really pulls. It definitely is not as smooth through the boost as it was before.

I have PFS IC, PFS exhaust, custom midpipe and Power FC w/commander (no datalogit...yet). Oh yeah, I did adjust the PIM settings to put more fuel in from 5000 rpm and up.

BTW, it has been pretty warm here...high 80's for lows and 94 for highs with mucho humidity.

Any suggestions?

That is what happens with a MP, your second turbo becomes amazing.

Do you have a boost guage? You should be able to tune the PowerFC for the amount of boost you are getting, it might not be boost creep.

You won't really know what to do until you get a boost reading...

Ehughes, check https://www.rx7club.com/forum/forumd...ne=&forumid=61

...for some maps and stuff. skotx has a website with a bunch of different people's maps on it:

...worth checking out to see if your current maps are the same as other ppl with similar mods. If they're way off, then you might find where your trouble is.

Someone mentioned some kind of "pre-spool" mechanism in another thread, and I think it has to do with spooling up your secondary turbo, but I really don't know. Check into that though...

Thanks for the feedback. I suppose the increased flow is the factor. Now I really need to order my datalogit!
