boost readings?

The hose that came with my boost gauge was not long enough to make it to the surge tank, so I stuck the end of it into a piece of 4mm silicone hose, and then attached the other end of the silicone hose to the surge tank. Does anyone know whether or not this would give me inaccurate boost readings? I have a manual valve and a have cranked it down pretty far, but my boost isn't increasing. I may still have it to wide open, but I am afraid of over boosting due to a misreading on my boost gauge.
Thanks,

You gotta remember, you're puting 10 pounds per square inch through this hose, if it is not sealed tight, it will leak.

Just go to the local parts store and you can get a extension with nipples on both ends for about $1.

Man, you can't have that at all. You gotta fix it....your definetly not going to get an accurate reading like that. Take the above advice and just get some hose with connections on them

I'm just curious where you're getting your boost readings from. The surge tank? You mean the pressure chamber in front of the extension manifold? Why aren't you using the spare nipple on the passenger side of the manifold like the rest of us? You'll still need more hose though. Go buy about six feet from an autoparts store.

I have attached at the same place you have yours. If you have the workshop manual for the FD, it refers to that upper intake manifold as the surge tank.

Here's what I did, I attached a pressure fitting to the small nylon tube that came with the boost gauge, then attached that to a threaded male coupler, then attached the other end of the coupler to a nipple that attaches to the rubber/silicone hose that goes to the "surge tank"/upper intake manifold. Take a look at the attached pic to see what it looks like.

Thanks for the help, and the picture. Hopefully I don't have the boost turned up to high, and getting a misreading on the boost gauge, possibly damaging things. I have only ran below 4k due to a break in period.
