boost problems, coolant buzzer

today i noticed my turbo isn't boost / isn't pulling hard. it seems to spool, but its a lot quieter than usual. the car seems sluggish. by the way its been humid and raining here on and off the past 2 weeks(it rained today too).

around the time it started raining i noticed my morning starts were giving off more white *condensation* than usual. other than that the car seemed perfectly normal.

so when i try to boost in any gear it doesn't really kick in.

anyway, i shut the car off for ~30 min and came back, started it... normal... then the coolant buzzer goes off. i shut it off immediately.

I haven't run any diagnostics, except for checking for loose hoses.. Any idea what i should be looking for? oh and i notice oil has been running down the hose to the intercooler down from the crossover pipe.. i first noticed it ~4 weeks ago.

Coolant buzzer = Low coolant warning. Check your coolant level at the filler neck cap (the one that has the warning about opening while the engine is hot).

Oil/turbo problem. Remove your IC and see if you have any oil pooling in there and how much is in your IC piping.

The coolant level sensor is in the T-Stat housing (which is where the filler neck is). If you open the filler neck, and the coolant level isn't up near the cap; you need to add coolant at 'this' location.

Good site to understand/troubleshooting FD's turbo system.

i filled the coolant 2 days ago, ran fine for 2 days, now the coolant buzzer is signaling again after some semi-hard driving. like before there are no coolant problems until after a long drive, park the car, let fans run.. no buzzer. then 1 hr later start the car, and the buzzer sounds 15 seconds later. i think i didn't fill it right. will report back in a few days.

btw the car is boosting great now, i found a crossover-ypipe connector was loose.

i'm still hearing bubbles in the system.. time to do a complete flush.

once in a while some dark droplets float up to the top of the coolant when i open the filler cap and watch for a while. is this oil from the motor? doesn't seem normal to me

Sounds to me like you have air in your coolant system. This is probably why the buzzer keeps going on and off. Flush it out and put in some new coolant and learn how to burp the system properly to get all that air out. Then check back again for those nasty dark droplets.
If they come back then you know that there is something wrong and you can go from there..
