Boost to high

As of right now the FD is stock, trust me, i already was so excited i took out the intercooler pipes, intercooler, and intake crap just to have a look around. One thing i am noticing though is that she gets up to 12 PSI boost and i know for a fact this is too high. It did this since i got it a few days ago, please help.

Also, how do you tell which model you have and what are they, sorry for the newb question.

Well i am in Arkansas and i bought the car friday and it was about 50 outside. Has been like that all weekend and today the temp has shot up to about 65. It seems the hotter it gets the higher the boost?!?!?
Yesterday she made a peak at 11 and today at 12, almost 13. I dont like that so i am not taking her to high today.

I have no idea on the overboost thing. I usually have problems with keeping the boost close to redline. I hope someone else could help you though. It's usually one hose that messes everything up. I know when i unpluged the hose for the Wastegate i got like 16-17 psi.

I was having that same problem too!

If your boost pressure is way above 10 psi, (spiking) then check the vac. hoses where in between the wastegate controller and Turbo Pre-Control Actuator could have a leak or popped off. Go to homedepot and buy the smallest clamp you can find and just tighten up all those vac hoses. It would be wise to change it to silicon hoses though.

I think you can see it from under the car, but you won't be able to reach to it. You have to take intake to get to it.

Would there be a possibility that whoever owned it before you had the cats gutted? Does the exhaust sound louder than a normal car?

hmm, quite possibly, but why go through the work of gutting them when you could just do a downpipe, which i intend to do. The exhaust is a bit louder than normal, but then again i have not heard any other FD with stock exhaust on it before.

I suggest you ignore most of the advice posted above and search/read through the various posts about boost and vacuum lines before diving into changing any vacuum lines on the car. There are so many things that it could be that you'll be chasing your tail for a while.

You might also want to consider finding a good local rx7 specialist by consulting the regional forums on this board. You can get yourself into a world of trouble if you are not familiar with this car.
