Boost controller installation help needed

Ok, I'm stumped... these sequentials are confusing! We bought a Blitz DSBC single solonoid to hook up to the main wastegate, and a cheap manual controller for the pca. I must be doing something wrong though because I can not get this thing to work right! There are 2 nipples on the front turbo that go to the wastegate and pca... I took the one to the wastegate and put it on the 'in' of the blitz solonoid. Then I connected the out of the solonoid to the nipple pointing up on the wastegate (btw. just to clarify, the wastgate is the top one right?). The other nipple facing the motor I capped. Up to 4-4500 rpm I'm getting 10 lbs. Then after that it spikes. I've hooked it up several ways now, and either I get top end spiking, or funky acting boost peaking at around 10-11 lbs. Somebody help me! Did I hook something up wrong?

Thanks
Chuck

I did a search, but the results were mostly for profec b's and AVCR's... so the installation was different since I believe they control sequentials and mine is just for a single wastegate... I may be wrong. All I know is that I can't get it to work.

Thanks

Off topic, but here you go...

The reason they say to search is because most (if not all) of the "old timers" don't post here any more. Why? Because they are tired of answering the same questions, over and over and over when they are archived.

I used to think the same thing, why search when you can ask? After being here for a while, you'll see. The same questions keep coming up week after week. The answer never changes just the person asking the question, that's why people should search first.

Chuck,

The reason people aren't chiming in is that not a lot of people have experience with that controller or setup you are attempting to do. I did a search on the web, and it seems the WRX guys use that controller, however more people are complaining about it then liking it. You might try searching some WRX forums and see if they have any insight as to what could be going on with the Blitz.

Use the shop manual, it will tell you at least the correct nipples.

you need to check and see if the controller has a set of pin switches for external or internal(ours are internal)wastegate. If it does set the pins for internal, and this should fix your problem. Also, you mention that you have a manual bleed valve set up for the pca, just put the stock hose bakc on there and try it that way. Then turn the controller off and you should get default boost which is 6-7psi. Also be sure the hoses going into the stepping motor solenoids on the control unit are going in the correct direction. The in nipple should be coming in from the outlet on the turbo compressor, and the out should be going out to the actuator.....

Ah ha, I think you've got it... I set the dip switch to external. I'll switch it to internal and see if that fixes it...

Thanks

Ok, switched it to internal wastegate and I think it's working now... it's not overboosting anymore, so that's a good sign that it is working correct? Now I just need to figure out how to use the thing. It goes in percentage increase, is that how most work? What percentage would be about 12 lbs? I've got it at 25 right now and it's right at about 10 lbs. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me... So any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Chuck

btw, RTS3GEN- sounds like I have it hooked up right. Only thing you didn't mention was what you're supposed to do with the other nipple on the actuator (the one facing the motor)? I plugged it on mine. Is that correct?

Thanks
Chuck
