BNR Stage 3 or 99 spec turbo?
I did search and read and read.
The turbos are out and ready to replace. Figure both are about the same price.
Quick poll: which ones?
Those who have them are you happy or would you have wished that you went the other way?
Thanks!!
Don't want to go single.

i hear sooo many good things about the BNR stage 3 twins..thats gonna be my route this summer hopefully..my twins are running so great right now, swapping them out would be pointless..and i hear that if you dont have the RZ spec twins, basically you just have a better condition 93-95 twins..
ps..where have you been REXDEX? long time no see..

I can tell you this....
I've sat there and watch Bryan build a set of stage 3's. I've held all the internals of the stage 3's and the stock twins in my hand and compared them. There is NO comparison, every single part of the stage 3's is much more durable than the stock twins. The internals of the 99's and RZ twins are really no different than stock, I've held the internals of them all, they are all basically the same. I can tell you the stage 3's are much stronger turbos and then on top of that you'll save a little money buying the stage 3's.

You can run them sequentially. It doesnt matter. Its just that most people go to non seq when they want to make power. The seq system is a pos and TO ME, its not worth the effort. I'd rather just pull all that bull **** out and be able to see the top of the engine and fuel rails. The only people that really need seq are people that drive like a granny lugging thier car around at 2K rpms. Personally, I dont drive like that. Even when I drive slow I stay in higher rpms (shifting around 4K or a little more).

I love mine---The ultimate sleeper. I crushed a certain One Lap of America Supra (with a T04R) after he laughed at my 'stock twins' (he didnt believe me when I said they were upgrades) and told the crowd watching he would run 10 psi to my 17psi. I destroyed him, and when we both ran 17 I pulled him a couple of cars at highway speeds. Of course, then he switched to 30psi (race gas) and took off like the space shuttle, lol. This was with my set of the old Stage 3s, but the story still holds.

Also in regards to the 99 specs, they have that whole abradable housing thing going on. The BNRs don't have that (and likley don't need it).

I've had the RZ turbos for almost 2 yrs now, and if I had to do it again, I'd prob do the same.
No offense to the ppl who like BNR's, but I think it depends on how far you are going to go in terms of mods.
For my daily-driven, pettit-ecu'd, 12 psi-max'd fd, I think my turbos fit the bill fine. I don't believe you will get too much out of the stage 3's w/o going into the 15-18 lb range, which requires larger inj, pfc, tuning, etc* (headache). Same goes for the m2 bb twins, which is moot now.
*I remember old posts regarding min. boost to get into their designed range

I've been pretty happy with my RZ's. 15 psi will beat a brand new Porsche Turbo X50, Z06's, and I still have great sequential response. If I were to do anthing different, i'd have probably skipped BNRs and gone single turbo. The fact that these were a factory bolt on part, and required no set-up at all was worth alot 1-month before the track season!
