Wink I asked!

I raced in a CMI import drag race and several local drags this year, documented with timeslips and photos, and filled out the forms. I'm also going to do some SCCA autocrosses with my shop. It helped to also meet Kelvin (the director of Mazda Motorsports) at Laguna Seca last year. and I have their stickers on my car.

Go to mazdamotorsports.com for the forms and rules.

Beast

PS Car checked out - will try to dyno as soon as Henry gets back. My M2 AD shocks are TOAST in the front, so I need to get them rebuilt.

Hey Stephen,
Why not post the latest dyno results from a few days ago so that everybody can see? I think that the numbers are very good and I think everybody deserves to see it.....

We'll be tuning Rich's car this weekend so hopefully we can post some good numbers on his car too.

Steve

Looks like we've been running about the same boost and a/f's, I've been running between 1.1 and 1.15 on the street but all my previous dyno runs were at 1.1 even with a MAX a/f of 11.08:1

It should be interesting to see the outcome of the different kits.

BTW - What all is done to the Checkpoint manifold? Is all they did is just install a external wg or did they do some porting or smoothing?

What's modded on these turbos? Are they similar to the M2's or what??? What do they cost???

Its been almos a month now since SPO initial claims on the BNR Twins. To date no hardcore proof has been provided to show that he has actually done this, so based on lack of any proof all i have to say is I would love to be proven wrong, please do so.

Ok, I've got a new dyno sheet but no scanner. The place saved it on disk for me and I'm going to pick it up today at lunch. I didnt make as much as before but still broke 400. Steve says I still have quite a bit left in my tuning. I think when its all said and done I'll be in the mid 420's at 17ish psi of boost. The air intake temps remained VERY cool the entire session which is thanks to the new seals in the turbo that replace the carbon seals.

I'm extremely rich in all my low boost levels and it loads up with fuel till about 4K rpms, when I correct that my turbos will come on even faster than they already do.

The thing I'm most happy about is the hp curve is AWSOME!!!!!! Its really broad, from about 6200rpms all the way to redline I was within 10rwhp of peak!!!!!

I'll get the disk at lunch and should be able to post the sheet up after lunch or tonight.

Also, guys dont forget my set of twins are just the proto-types and have no turbine wheel clip or anything. Steve (Pluto) is tuning Richs car with a set that have a turbine wheel clip and he should get more overall rwhp out of that set. I think when everything is said and done with the right tuning and engine porting they have the potential for 450ish. I'm sure Steve will reach thier potential on Richs car

STEPHEN

Well I guess I can make another trip to that dyno and do it again if you'd like. I have no control over what a dyno says.....and who knows maybe they are more accurate than a dynojet....according to the operator its much more expensive than the dynojet. Everyone knows if its more expensive it must be much better lol

In all reality though you guys should know by now that dyno's dont mean a whole lot anyway, there are too many variables. As soon as it warms up I'll be heading to the track....to be quite honest thats what I'll go by (the mph), it means more than a dyno chart. I mean, I've been to 3 dynos and my rwhp had a 80rwhp span from the 3......I'm choosing to go with this one cause I think it reflects better of what my car is doing.

well that puts the thing in a realistic number range. I had a long conversation with the guy who owns the company that builds the m2 turbos last night. We spoke at length about all this and he seemed stumped on how you were hitting 460 rwhp. He immediately asked what kind of dyno it was and seemed sure that was the issue.

I cant wait to see the charts and compare them to my "soon to be had" m2 ball bearing sheets....you guys got me all excited. I especially cant wait to see how they do on the track..both sets. Its very winter up here now...spring better come soon this year.

Radiator and knock sensor goes in this week...then Im off to the dyno.

good luck to all.

So! How much over 400 RWHP was it!

God! Why the hell is it like pulling teeth to get a complete answer out of people making RWHP claims!? :-)

And are we ever going to see the 460+ RWHP sheet?

spo, why don't you just take to a dynojet and shut us all up. if it really is 460 then that should show it. btw, over 400rwhp no matter what dyno it's on is still a great accomplishment. was it on pump gas or race gas?

Dude, have you read this page???? I said that I just made more dyno runs and that I'll be posting the sheets later today. You might want to scroll up to the top of this page and re read some of it....start about where Pluto posted.

And yes this dyno was a dynojet

well you never mentioned this was a dynojet. i just assumed this was on the old dyno, since you've got similar numbers from before, which you said equated to 15% less on a dynojet.
