Was your car under boost at the time or just driving normal? How many miles on your car?

car was under boost, i was accelerating slightly coming out of a turn and up a hill. about 120,000 on original motor. i had been having starting problems(on rare occasions) and high rpm studder for a while previous to this, first was probably just flooding though.

Well.....do the obvious first. Check the vacuum line coming out of the bottom of the map sensor and make sure it is tight. I don't know, but it doesn't sound too good. When my engine blew there was oil on my back bumper above the exhaust. Hopefully yours isn't blown, but it doesn't look hopeful.
