Question Block off Plates

Could somebody direct me to a thread on the installation of the plate set with pictures. The set was purchased from the RX7Store.

When you start taking things apart, it will be appearent where the pieces fit. What are you planning on eliminating?

aws, egr, air pump and what ever else the set wich was bought two years ago comes with eight plates I believe but when looking at them some pieces could easily be placed in more than one location. I was hopeing some others had probably asked during the years and that a few threads were out there because i can't find any that are detailed. thanks

While they look like they can be interchanged, the holes for the bolts won't quite line up if you have the wrong plate in place (and you'll think you need to enlarge the holes for it to fit).

If you find yourself in that place, you have the wrong plate for that area.

Not 100% sure, but I believe some of the things you'll be blocking off have studs that the stock device attached with. If that's the case, it's a VERY good idea to unscrew the studs and replace them with bolts. If you try and use the studs/nuts, you probably won't be able to get pressure on the blockoff plate without a pile of washers, and that's just ghetto. A blockoff plate should be a PERMANENT install that you never have to mess with or unbolt.

On the FC's I've worked on, a pair of vice grips quickly removed the stock stud. You can also double-nut the stud to remove it.

I also highly recommend new gaskets to go with the plates - again, you want to do this once. I can't tell you how many people have had weird problems due to leaky block-off plates, and they just assumed that couldn't be the problem.

Yes, the RX7Store kit comes with bolts to replace the studs.

However, I would recommend using RTV instead of gaskets for the BOVs, but that's just me.
