Question blitz fmic with efr 7670 turbo?

I plan to install an efr 7670 turbo,

and was thinking about the blitz fmic...

I don't plan to run more than 18-20 psi...

Do you recommand the 7670 or 8374?

I prefer low egt and I want to stay in a safe boost range : 13/15psi.

Based on sizing, I'd say 7670 for those boost levels. The Blitz is a pretty good FMIC, allow air back to the radiator and doesn't increase lag a crazy amount. Should work well with the responsive EFR range IMO

Sounds great,
I am still considering a v mount, but I like the blitz fmount.

What power should I expect with the 7670 at 13 psi and 15psi?

Stock port, hks twin power , sard high Flow cat. apexi Pfc , 500cc and id2000. Supra fuel pump.rb dual exhaust.

Eh...the internet dyno isn't very reliable, but...low to mid 300's with a super broad-torquey power band.

Yeah, I got low 320rwhp on my EFR 7670 at 13psi (my pump gas setting). You aren't even starting to get into the 75% efficiency island on the compressor map until 15psi +.

For low boost I would go with 8374 for low boost since it is nearly as responsive and should make 340rwhp at 13psi (like Jacob did). The 75% efficiency island drops below 15psi from 29lbs/min to 46lbs/min. 29 to 46lbs/min is probably around the 190 to 300rwhp range at 15psi. Nice place for good efficiency (you will drive there a lot).

Very interesting...
I really want to keep the egt low and keep a good boost response

I have the hks manifold for T40S,

does the EFR 8374 1.05 A/R T4 Twin Scroll (external WG) will fit? rx7 fd

what power should I expect with 15 psi with the EFR 8374?

I don't know yet, my FD still has all the stock crap in it.

I would expect 360-400rwhp depending on how good your engine/manifolds flow.

V mount or SMIC with small intercooler. either work well. get cold air into the intake to lower pressure ratio of the turbo.

I have a mazdaspeed smic intercooler , is it big enough for 13/ 15 psi with the efr?

same as this one

What is the core dimensions? L X W X Depth, Most likely I would run it.

place your intake filter next to it where cold air is. Also, make ducting for the intercooler to force cold air through the intercooler.

It's roughly the same size as the greddy stock mount.

I am running the stock intercooler duct with it, I am wondering if the pettit intercooler charge II duct will improve the cooling...

Getting cold air into the intake is more important than intercooler size. Having a duct is also very important for your intercooler to work well and effectively. if the duct fits well, I bet you are fine.

Run a large low pressure drop air filter (as big as you can fit), not only is it lower pressure drop but can clean the air better as well as it sucks less per square inch of area. Get cold air into the intake from the front bumper, colder air = more power.

I had two different set ups. one FMIC with are filter in engine bay, other cold air intake with V-mount. I made about 40-50WHP more with the cold air intake than my FMIC hot air intake. I also picked up a little better spool. I went with a larger filter, velocity stack and long intake tube.

Here is another persons car I tuned (powerfc) and gave suggestions to for a budget V-mount. notice the intake filter was my old one

His car made good power and always had super low intake temps. he funneled are to the filter and attached the filter right to the turbo. His car had a little smaller turbo than mine (57mm compressor) and he made about the same power as I did (62mm) when he boosted 3 PSI more than I.

AIT's were 0-5C over ambient the entire time and would hold under heavy boost, no water injection. tuned to 17PSI at 6K elevation. Notice the size of his intercooler.

Personally I would be wanting to run a bigger intercooler than the mazdaspeed one.

Vmount or FMIC, either will work well if done properly.
