Blew My engine! what should I do?
hey everyone! I lost compression in the rear rotor! But now I am not sure on what to do! I would like to go with a Street port and some 3MM seals! does anyone know how much this would cost. and also do you guys think its worth going with 3MM seals? I am jus going for a nice street car! thanks Ryan

I would ask your builder and see what he feels comfortable with.
But with just a street car you might as well save some money and get 2mm seals.
The cheapest way to go would be to get a reman (do a search for Ray Crowe, there is a thread about remans just on this page or the next) should run around $2100
There are some talks about the rotary aviation seals which might be another alternative (search in performance section). The reason is if you buy new housings for your rebuild and get their seals, you have a warranty against failure.
Good luck!

Whats the final word on their seals? I mean, I heard their rough on housings (cause their really hard) but obviously since their hard can resist detonation better. There is a thread about someone who put 10,000 kilometers on it, and the engine already blew. Info?

here is the thread

but It was an alternative as if you go with stock boost and new housing you get a warranty on a rebuild if the seals go.

Can you machine the grooves for the 3 mm seals? Do you already have the single turbo? because your cost is rising.....
If you are going single, I would get a reman and port it. If you are doing it your self you may be able to save money and see what is salvagable from your current motor.
maybe the real question should be what's your budget?

how many threads have been started in the 3rd gen section with words in the title to the effect of "blew my motor" or "popped my motor"?
it must be one of those numbers with a large exponent, or "myriads and myriads"
