Well after 3months here is a update: Called Cam up and the car is running great. He said my PFC was in really bad shape. Meaning that however tuned my car last didn't do a good job at all and that's the reason why the engine blew. I will not mention who tuned it last but you may get an idea.
He said that there is new firm ware out or smtg and its in color now and is a lot easier to see problems in the PFC. So my friend will get it on sat. I cant as I'm in Afghanistan now.

He took out the 850cc prim. and put the 550cc in. He said he had a lot of trouble getting it to run right with 850's in so for now the 550 will do.

Wow, what firmware is that? I'd love to have the pfc commander in color.

A lot does not add up here. If they did not bevel the exhaust port, it would not blow in 4000 miles under very LITTLE load. We all know Cam is a good builder and Steve is a good tuner.

Do you have any pics of the damaged seals/housings? I'm sure you didn't throw away the old rotor housings, can you post pics of them when you get back?

What exactly was damaged? Normally if you run slightly lean I can see the tips of the apex seals breaking but it sounds like the motor was really hurt bad.

You mentioned Cam could not get it to run right with 850's, does that mean the 850's were bad? We all know there are no issues running 850's with the PFC so that't why I am asking.

Also good advice from Goodfellas on the extreme PP, I have that one for 2 years now and no issues at the track so I'm sure they will hold up forever driven regularly.

Either way, glad you are back on the road again.

Anthony

DAMN!!!! You know I'm pretty pissed off right now with all this ****. My friend called cam prior going to West Palm and asked cam to show up there instead of 1:00, 12:00 . He got there around 1030am. he was early and was waiting around for him. He just called me 11:00. and guess who drives up? CAM! In my F@*#&ing car. So this guy ( I want everyone to know) was using my car to go back and forth to his house.
So at this point I don't know who to believe anymore. I don't have pic's of the bad housings and don't have the old PFC map.

I had around 10,600 miles on it when it blew now it has 10,900. Granted 300 miles isn't a lot but still going home with it is.

Make sure he isn't street tuning it for you before you freak out. They can't know if anything will be wrong with the car without putting it on the street. If your friend met Cam at Sebring and he was running your car for a few days there, then that would be a problem.

If he is tuning your car by using it as a DD he is actually doing you a HUGE favor. This is an even better way to tune a car than a typical street tune where you just cruise on the highway for a few miles, do a few pulls and get things dialed in.

My friend who recently did a ton or work on this subie left his car with the tuner for an entire week so the tuner could make the car is drive-able as possible. The tuner would drive in traffic, just do every day things in it to work every single kink out of the map.

Regardless... he should have informed you of what he was doing if this is the case.

I understand that its a good thing to street tune it. However I asked him if anyone was driving it him or anyone and he said it was in the shop under a cover and he got little time to tune it on the street. When my friend was there he actually got out the laptop was sitting in the passenger seat while my friend was driving it. To my knowledge this is how to really tune it.
Yes it is good to take it out for a test run to feel it out and work out the kinks but I don't see how he can be doing that alone. Besides it was a Sat. And they were closed that day.
I really don't mind him tuning it but I just want honesty. Also I freaked out cause I have a *** load of $$$ into it and even though its insured for 50K the insurance company will give me **** if they knew that he had it like that. Everyone knows the strict rules for these companies ie: locked garage and all that.
