which is better to get and why?
the Bosch or the Nippondenso?

the nippondenso are alot more campared to the bosch, what is there difference between the two? the bosch have 1600cc and the nipp. have 1300, but the bosch are still cheaper. why is this?

NDenso is closer to a OEM stock grade, in fact I believe thats what our stockers are. Bosch's are fine though.

Just curious - what exactly makes the injector better/worse... I've never known injectors to like .. stop working. And if they did wouldn't your engine sort of explode :p

Anyone able to explain how the the quality of an injector is seen in its performance?

You've never had an injector burn out or leak like a son-of-a-bitch? I'd get Nippons.

The Denso's are OEM injectors. Many people get their stock secondary injectors (850cc) bored out to 1200 or 1300cc injectors. These will still drop straight into the stock fuel rail. However, some people have experienced failure with these bored out injectors.

The Bosch are 1600cc injectors and will require a new secondary fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator. This will also involve removing the ACV, which means you will not be emissions compliant and you have to run a midpipe.

well anyone that upgrades there injectors will usually put a mp on.

has there been any downsides to the bosch injectors?

also i do plan on upgrading the fuel pump. thinking either of doing the 2 fd pumps together or supra or just getting a walbro or denso.

well if no one can point out anything bad about the bosch i guess i should just get those. they are cheaper and i dont have to send in my old ones.

anymore info?

Not necessarily. Also, don't you have to pass emissions in Connecticut? It will be very difficult to do so with the 1600s.

I have never heard of anyone having a reliability problem with the 1600s. Bosch makes good stuff, much of it OEM.

Like I said in my earlier post, to install the 1600 injectors, you need to install an aftermarket fuel rail which means you have to remove the ACV. This means no more air going to your cat (you can't pass emissions with a midpipe - duh!). You will not pass emissions without air going to the cat. I suppose it's possible you could rig something up to get air to the cat but in California, that wouldn't fly, even at a liberal smog station.....

So with 1600cc injectors you're saying is practically impossible to pass emissions?

Thanks to my open wastegate setup I was able to see that one of my new R/C modified injectors was pouring fuel in a steady stream onto the ground. It felt and sounded like I had popped the new motor. Everything is OK now and no problems making 400 WHP.

No way I could pass emissions anywhere running 700s and 1200s. Seems to me the cat would be overwhelmed by the amount of raw fuel coming to it.

You could have the car smogged with stock injectors and appropriate map and then switch to big injectors with the appropriate map and make whatever required boost / exhaust changes all at home. I keep complete spare 550 and 850 rails and gaskets in the parts bin.

I may be wrong but I think Bosch are less expensive because they are top feed whilst denso are side feed. As already said, the factory fuel rail supports only side feed therefore if one opts for Bosch injectors (which by themselves are cheaper) one should consider the expenses for a new secondary fuel rail and a good fpr.

I think it may come almost as expensive as two denso injectors!
