Best ignition setup... How much can stock ignition handle...

Just wondering what would be a good ignition setup.. I see many peole using msd, jacob, and hks.. Dunno which to choose... What is reliable, or what is just hands down the best...

With stock twins, you guys don't need a damn thing! I have a single turbo running 10's in the 1/4mile and have stock ignition. And I run 20lbs of boost. The stock ignition on our cars is very good. Too many people put amps on it when its not needed. I used to have the HKS Twin power, noticed nothing, so I took it off, sold it and now my car runs better than ever......

Just adding to what ErnieT said, alot of the aftermarket ignition setups actually heat up the coil too much causing them to fail. Dave at KDR did a test with ignition amps (HKS, Jacobs, and Ignition Solutions)..I think they are the 3 and found they all put down about 2-3 rwhp over stock but the Ignition Solutions didn't run so hot. Might want to double check the plugs and wires. I had a recent ignition problem and it was my junk Jacob's wire - went back to stock wires and it works great. Stock ignition can withstand up to 500 rwhp - obviously since that's about what ErnieT should have running 20+ psi

I have no breakup with my HKS at high boost or high rpms. I did a lot all at once so I can't give an accurate before and after, but I can say that everything is very smooth with my HKS throughout all ranges.

I just got done installing the HKS. It was super simple with the wiring harness. Haven't got a chance to drive it yet. But I did start it up and the idle is much better. Doesn't bounce around and it revs better.
