Question Best Boost Controller For the FD? Already Searched

What is the best boost controller for the fd running sequentially? I know that the Profec B is a good low cost controller and does the job, but I am wondering which one is really the best to control the sequential setup. It sounds like the Profec B is the best one for the money, but if money is not taken into account which is the best? Profec E-O1? Thanks for the info.

I've heard the same, seq or non-seq, profec B. And now the profec B spec II is out, get that one!

Profec b is a good Budget boost controller. Hardly the best. I think Turbo Magazine did a test last year and the Blitz SBC-ID performed best out of the 6 or so Boost controllers they tested.

Personally I like my Apex'i AVC-R. Get consistant boost between 1.04 and 1.08 kg. cm. on my non-sequentail set up.

Put it in the lower pocket of the dash with a little cutting of the pocket...thanks for the idea Max.

No problem for the tip. Where'd you get that roll bar? It looks nice.

So the boost controllers really will function the same on the sequential setup? I was just wondering if there was a certain one that worked better with sequentials. Looks like I will get the Blitz unless anyone has more input. Is the Profec E-01 worth the money?

No, the profec E is more than you need. I have used manual controllers, the AVC-R ,and the Profec B. The profec B was the most straight forward, well functioning one of the bunch. I sold it a couple of years ago I wish I had another one.

the blitz dual SBC and ID are the best controllers for an FD. they are pricey though at around 600$. the profce b works great and costs 300$. both of them do not use fuzzy logic which is bad for sequential turbos.

I have a Blitz SBC-ID in my FD and it works like a charm. You can find it for under well under $600, I think the RX7store has them. I mounted mine right on top of the steering column under the tach.

The gain feature is pretty cool, allowing you to change how quickly the turbos spool up.

If you are going to get it, I say wait a month or so until version 3 comes out, which also comes in a matte black finish to match up with the FD interior.

There is someone I can get the version three from for $475. I think that is a pretty good deal, I need one because I am getting too high of boost and can't even do a boost test for fear I will blow my engine. It sounds like the Blitz is the best buy. Do you think I should go ahead and buy this one now for $475, or wait until a more well know shop has them in stock? Thanks.

Boost Controller

I was just wondering if you are still interested in getting a boost controller. I have a new Blitz Dual SBC Spec S for sale. It can control up to 24 psi and I am will to sell it for $295.00 with shipping. Let me know if you are interested.

If you are still looking for the Blitz SBC ID my friend can get it really cheap. Just e-mail him at dennischey@hotmail.com and ask him.

E-mail me at js236@hotmail.com

Thanks

Well, I am not sure. I have to install my dp, and catback and see if I get too much boost. I will probably get the Blitz SBC ID when I do get one. Maybe within the next few weeks. Thanks.

All I have to say is check ebay for the blitz sbc-id controller. You can get them new sometimes for $450-$500. I bought mine for $1050 cnd and if I would have looked on ebay I would have been able to pick up the power meter and the boost controller for less than $900 cnd. Just type in blitz in the search slot on ebay.

Blitz Parts and Others

I'll tell you what.

E-mail me a list of parts you want for your FD3S and I am pretty sure I can beat any price you get.

I would tell you the prices now, but I would prefer something more private.

E-mail me at js236@hotmail.com

I will tell you more.

Profec B or Profec B II is reliable, user friendly, and costless boost controller in the market. Most of people like it..

I have AVC-R... its pain in the butt.. but kind of cool once you get used to it... neat little functions.. but most of the time you are not going to use it.... Pretty accurate.. if you have PFC.. then You really don't need AVC-R... you could acturally get a boost controller for your PFC...
