Bell Intercoolers

Does anyone have any 1st hand experience or ever heard anything about these intercoolers?

They make them in just about any core size and end tank design. I just wonder if they make their own cores or do they use someone else's? I can't seem to find any good data on them.

I can only get a cost for the core size, not the end tanks too.

Yes,
I had a cooler built to fit a replica CWR duct I had. I worked directly with Gerhard Shruff at Bell, and he was remarkably helpful and prompt. He created it exactly from my drawings.

Compared to an original CWR (spearco probabl), the Bell has one extra internal tube, and the fins, both internal and external, were more dense. It's a quality unit, though heavier due to density and thicker end tank material.

See examples... the fin close-up is Bell on top, CWR on bottom

Corky is a super nice guy. Family run, everyone is A+ there. Tell'em mike finney said high. Plan on getting down there some time this year to see them again.

PS Call them, Corky knows way to much about intercoolering & you won't go wrong ith them.

Thanks for the info. What was the cost factor like, compared to the original unit?

^^^^

The cooler itself was $800 or so. The duct, two custom pipes, and hoses/clamps were another few hundred. I don't know that it was a huge savings so much as it is an improved version of a kit you can't get anymore (many original purchasers never got complete kits).

Update: well, I have tried repeatedly to place an order for a custom intercooler. Sent two emails and made a phone call. It's been many weeks and have not received any response.

I actually received my Bell intercooler earlier this week. Have a look below... It looks like a high quality product.

I also had a hard time via e-mail but once I called to place my order, it was fairly easy.

I had a Bell intercooler when i designed my v-mount set up. Gerhard Shruff was also the man that i worked with and was very nice and prompt. I sent in a drawing and the specs for my endtanks and he did what i asked pretty much spot on. I will see if i can dig up some pics, but it was a nice quality intercooler.

The only thing i can say negative was that it was a little on the heavy side. The core i had made was smaller than my greddy front mount, but weighed more.
