Question Badge Removal Techniques?

Has anyone found a fairly safe way to remove the eternal flame badges without too much risk to the paint?

I thought I'd read a post about using some type of line or wire, but can't locate it now.

Replacing the worn badges, but only if I can find a good way to get them off. They appear to be on with more than adhesive tape.

thanks

I'd say a heat gun is the best way to remove them without damaging the paint, however I used a puddy knife to get mine off and it didn't hurt anything.

Heat gun, fishing line, goo off, then soap and water. Do it in that exact order!

there are studs as well as glue. You'll be left with 2 holes per Eternal Flame, and one or two for the "RX-7" on the back.

Note that there are fasteners on the pins on the inside of the bumper (unless they fell off already). You have to reach in there and pull those out first. Otherwise the badge will be difficult to remove and you could damage something. The RX-7 badge has no pins, but the rest do. After removing those fasteners, I just used a heat gun, worked great.

Question:

Is the flying M badge's studs in the same place as the original "eternal flame" badge's studs?

Or would a person need to fill the pre-existing holes and possibly drill some new ones?

Thanks.

If you buy the flyin M badge made for the FD, it fits perfectly in the existing holes. I've done it on my car.
