Bad Gas Milage

whats up guys, i finally got my car all "running" stil minor things to do.

evrything is stock except.

t4 t60 turbo

street port
custom exhaust turbo back / no cat

those are the things i know about that have been done to the motor.

but i took it out sunday and yesterday. and im getting horrible gas mialge went thought 3/4 of a tank on sunday.

but its only on boost, when it sucks the gas down. and i mean it freaking chugs gas

could my mapp sensor be bad?

or is that filter between it nescicasry, would it screw my gas milage up that bad? any ideas on why its so bad?

if i can make it better i would love too.

i have a new 02 sensor, so i dont think its that.

any ideas would be awesome!

thanks guys

i know i the car isnt great on gas. and i dont mind since i only drive it on the weekends.

Are you saying you don't have the check valve between the map sensor and the tb? you might want to put one there. and what kind of mileage are you getting is it tuned?

Well.....How many miles did you drive to use 3/4 of a tank? Kind of important to know.

The MAP filter is important. What ECU do you have? Is the new o2 sensor a 5 wire for a wideband or single for the computer? what are your AFR's under boost do you have a fuel leak what boost are you running?

tafkamb2, it is NOT a check valve between the map and the UIM.

just got the car 2 months ago
stock ecu(getting pfc soon)
120 miles on the trip meter right now(was reset that night)

02 sensor is single wire for the computer.
and i dont have a a/f meter yet, have it don't have it installed.

i was only running 5 lbs of boost that night. and its just a simple k&n fuel filter right ?

no fuel leak. if i dont boost i get great milage, like yesterday my intercooler pipe came off. and i got great milage, from downtown to my house(45 miles) moved a smudge when driving with boost ill run 1/2 tank in 15 to 20 miles.

Thanks

you might want to stop driving the car and send the car to a rotary specialist to work out all the problems.....

single turbo on stock ECU?? on 5psi? do they even make wastegate springs that soft anymore?

problem solved?? what did you do, get a new ECU already??
you should reallyy listen to the others and not drive that car untill you have upgraded your ECU and preferbly your injectors and fuel pump aswell.
If you must drive it...dont boost, or you will be posting here with another problem very soon and we will be telling you to do a compression check!

I read (or tried to read) your first post more than once. It doesn't seem like you should be calling anyone an idiot.

You were driving around on a ported engine and single turbo with the STOCK ECU, and your main concern was poor gas mileage? Perhaps you should reconsider calling other people idiots.

Sounds like you ended up blowing your motor since you're "getting a rebuild." Most people don't just do that for fun. Poor FD...

Like I said, it is people like YOU that give this car a bad rap. people read YOUR retarded post about how YOU are running single turbo on stock ecu, probably stock injectors also and then cry about it getting bad gas mileage, needing a rebuild, etc.

your twins blew, get a new set for $200 or do the single swap the correct way, quit trying to make shortcuts then crying about bad gas mileage.

Edit: you probably also bought the Ebay turbo and manifold, which are gonna cause you even more trouble when they fall apart, for sale post here we come, I will give you $2k for it right now.

i just got the car two months ago with blown turbos, we had this turbo lying around we built a custom manifold for it, made everything look good, i dont know **** about the cars ecu, im used to odb2 cars where i can actually tune them lol.

no the car did not blow up.
i took everyone's advice and put the car in the garage so i dont blow it up, and then have to completely replace my rotor housings.

and actually you should feel sorry for my car. since its off its wheels right now in the garage away from weather ;P

thanks for the awesome welcome to the club!
