Exclamation Bad Brakes or Bad Bushings?

Symptom: When I am in neutral and apply the brakes at low speeds as I come to approach a stop, I can feel the front wheels just thudding and with a few clunking noises to go with it.

What I'm sure of: It is not my rim as I've had them repaired and balanced. It is not my tyre as I replaced them a month ago. It is not my coilovers are relatively new as well.

Any suggestions?

Check the brake rotors runout to see if they are still within specifications.

Your description isn't entirely clear, but I'd probably guess the lower control arm - either bushings or ball joints. Check that after the brakes.

I just replaced my 130k mile lower control arms with a set of lower mileage ones and installed Super Pro poly bushings at the same time. The lower mileage ball joints got rid of the nasting clunking crackling noises I was hearing under low speed braking and the bushings made the car feel more stable under hard braking and got rid of a lot of slop.
