After doing some reading, it seems like you probably have the wrong commander for the PFC.

If you search the PFC forum using "commander power logo", that will bring up about 2 threads of the same problem. I would give Apexi USA a call tomorrow and verify the part numbers.

well that's great, i guess i won't have any help from the commander with diagnosing this problem.

Well Mahjik, since it's not PowerFC based now; ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I'm thinking it almost has to be spark related.

How about taking 5 from this problem and post the tracking numbers for the GB motor mount shipments so I will know when I can reinstall my motor.

Thanks.

check all your fuses. def seems like a commander interface or pfc problem based on the splash only screen on the commander. overheat light is indicating a malf.

could still be a pfc prob, or simply that it needs tuning to your new spec, new timing/fuelling/idle settings etc. Find a correct commander, check the 'sensor/switch' menu and see if any are highlighted, if they are, a major fault is present and the unit will not continue to run the car. Check for things unplugged etc.

Does anyone have a commander in the Pittsburgh area for the newer PFC? Or a datalogit they could lend me?

Which fuses did you move and where did you move them to?

well i only have the TNS, Fuel pump, and horn relays left from the front box. I just extended their wires and put them below the passenger side headlight.

Ok, did a little more testing. Seems that it may be the ignition timing. My father said it sounds like it's retarded (timing that is). Is it possible that this engine is so different that the previous tune won't even allow it to run? Sprak is NOT being cut, and fuel pressure is staying constant. I even tried raising the base fuel pressure in 5psi increments from 40psi to 70psi. Nothing helped.

Do you have another ECU you can try? Say a buddies PFC and load your map?

What keeps getting me is the fact that the commander is stuck on the splash screen. This is not normal. Once it gets power (even with the car not running) you should be able to bounce around the menus and setting.

No I don't have any friends with FD's in the area. Also how would I load the map, I don't have a working commander. I have the newer PFC (serial beginning: FD3S4) and I've been told this commander is for the older one.

Also the exhaust temp light goes out once it's started so I guess it's not showing a sensor malfunction.

Sorry I thought I saw in another thread of yours that you have a datalogit.

My exhaust temp light has never worked so I'm no help there.

I was just giving ideas. I have no more at the moment. I re-read everything and see if something else jumps out at me.

Good Luck.

Just trying to help and I'm not sure if you can get these backwards or not. Check you CAS connectors and the order.

yeah, i worried about that when i disassembled them, so i marked the order on the black plastic of the sensors themselves with a paint marker. But thanks, that pic is actually really helpful for those that may have them reversed.

Since we are reaching, what about your purge control solenoid?

Dying after a startup is a symptom of a stuck open purge control solenoid.

/\ pfc will use the exhaust overheat light as a fault light. the fact that is will not go to the sensor/data screen means the commander or the pfc is having problems.

have you pulled the connectors to make sure all the pins and recivers are ok? seems like it is time to try a new pfc or commander if you can

I'm not so sure that works:

https://www.rx7club.com/power-fc-forum-47/cel-myth-fact-435489/

However, everyone states that the Exhaust Light is on until the car starts. This is exactly what 4CN Air is seeing as the car won't start yet.
