Autocross Temperature Readout After Run

If any of you guys autocross your FD, and have a temerature guage that works, what is the average temp after a run? I was at one the other day and my PFC readout was saying 101 degrees at the hottest and average was around 96 after a run, with 90-94 before the run. Is this average? I don't recall the temps at the other events I have gone to last year. This was on a 72 second course. Makes me a little uncomfortable to go to track days if the temp gets high after 72 seconds. Am I just crazy though?

Nope, your not crazy. Larger dual oil coolers or short shift.

guess I really didn't get enough specifics.

I have PFC, Dual R1 oil coolers, 1-1/4 " aluminum radiator, greddy stock mount IC with good ducting, M@2 intake, RX7 store downpipe, stock cat, stock catback, ACT prolite flywheel, Efini Y-pipe, stock turbos, 550cc primary, 1300cc secondaries, running 13 PSI boost.
The radiator fans are on the entire time as I have them set to go on at 92 degrees using datalogit and PFC.

Still seem like a high temp? It does go back down pretty quickly after the run, down to 93 or so by 1-2 minutes after the run was made.

Autox'd my FD last weekend, 40 second course. Temps never got over 95c.
Oil was about the same.

My car was on the dyno 2 weeks ago and didn't get as hot as yours at the autox.

I attribute it to a Koyo Rad (v-mount) and dual Mocal 19 row oil coolers.

Also, 75/25 antifreeze/water coolant mix.

Your temps are normal. Nothing to worry about.

wouldnt you want to run more water, less antifreeze in hot temps? The antifreeze is not as good as water for heat transfer. the antifreeze is added to prevent corrosion and to lower the freeze point.

Agreed. Before I went Vmount, my temps were around there after a good 60+ second run. depending on course layout and ambients of course.

Why not have your fans come on before, say 85c ?

Last week I was at a local event with ambient about 85 F. Short course.
Mostly stock R1, stock boost with a fluidyne and Mobil 1 synthetic; 60/40 Coolant to water ratio, FC thermoswitch. I saw 88-91 C. on the PFC afterward.

I read 110 C on the commander at my first event with the PFC and got scared - very hot day in July, stock radiator.

Copied below is what Chuck Westbrook recommended me to do:

(1) coolant: run 25% antifreeze, 75% distilled water, one bottle of Redline Water Wetter for better heat transfer.

(2) set your PFC fan temps to all 86C or lower to start cooling sooner.

(3) disconnect the wire that goes to the AC compressor, and turn the AC on. The AC pump will not come on (thus no load) but will cause the cooling fans to run at one speed higher than they were.

(4) Do the fan mod switch which only grounds out the TEST connector near the ECU. The test connector was a legal Mazda recall mod. This will bump up the fans another speed.

As for (1) I actually use 100% water + a Neo product equivalent to RWW + 16 psi cap

After a run, you should also thoroughly water spray the radiator with the fans running and oil coolers (and IC + pipes to and from it up to the UIM) to remove soaked heat before your next run.

With all of the above, I get low 90ies C at current NJ outside summer temperatures. That should be OK - the PFC default settings starts retarding timing at 95 C
