Auto injectors sizes

I just flow tested some auto secondaries and they only came to about 650cc, what's with that? I thought they are supposed to be 850cc...or are the auto secondaries smaller or something?

Turbo compressors would be smaller too if the injectors are, anyone know if the turbos on autos are smaller?

they are suppose to be 850, yours are just clogged probally. BTW: turbos on autos are the same!

thanks

Yeah I wondered that but they both flowed the same and I know of someone esle that said they were 650cc. That's interesting about the compressor wheels on the turbos being the same size, most autos have smaller compressors. Same size would suggest that it is the same size for the injectors too.

Most Denso injectors start with 195500 but the only number that looks like an injector part number (and not a plug number) on these is 2450, does anyone have an injector off a manual to compare the part number with? would be much apprecitated :P

Mine were 840 cc/min at 43 psi after cleaning. I have seen some that were 870 cc/min after cleaning, but perhaps the pressure was a tad higher to explain the difference, or the cleaning fluid is somewhat abrasive and they were cleaned too long or something. I don't know why the sizes were different, those are just my speculations. It might be that they simply are larger.

What pressure were yours tested at? Pressure changes how much they flow. The size should match this formula:
test_size = 850 * SQRT( test_pressure / 43.5 psi)

Thanks for your response, I have a feeling that the difference is due to injector duty cycle, were yours measured at 100% by any chance?

Yes, I am pretty sure RC does the measurements at 100% duty cycle.

duty cycle

That's interesting. I will have to find out what duty cycle the '450cc' DSM injectors are rated at. This could explain the difference I am getting because if the 450cc injectors are rated at about 70%, then I would get 650cc relative to them based on an injector that flows 850cc at 100% (because that 450cc @ 70% is more like 700cc @ 100%). I will do some more testing on that and compare the other injectors like the -1370s S4 550s and the -2020 550cc S5s (which sound more like 530cc by the way).
