APR GTC-300 vs. GTC-500 wing

hey guys,

i've been searching around and it can't really find a comparison of how the GTC 300 compares (length wise 67" vs. 61")

does anyone have pics of an FD from rear with each wing so i can see how it fits on the car?

thanks,
VJ

The GTC500 is for high speed race tracks whereas the GTC300 is for more low to mid speed race tracks, it does not produce as much downforce.

IMO, neither spoiler is tall enough to catch "clean air" and they require risers. The GTC500 is the best out of the two though. Make sure you have an equally capable front splitter.

yup the front bumper of the car has a front splitter kind of built in i guess you could say, and it has canards as well...i think I'm going to put an additional splitter on the front to double as the under tray

^^^^ That is the 500. The 300 is closer to the width of the car, not as wide as the one above.

Ken, how do you feel about mounting your wing to the hatch instead of the actual car? Or does it go through to the chassis? Also, how's the quality of the wing? I've read some people on this board hating on apr wings... so are the posts only meant to be in one position, or can you move them in and out? i assume you can't move them if you bought the supra one specifically for the wide mount?

ive had no problems with it mounted on the hatch. I have nice support plates underneath and to this day Ive had no issues (fingers crossed). The wing is well made imo, theres an aluminum center then cf over it. Wing posts are sturdy. Of course you cannot compare the apr wings to say a Kognition wing...or can you? cfd datas are available for both.

I found the wing on a local supra forum for $500 brandnew...so it was a no brainer, I was going to make it work no matter what, it worked out nicely for me that the posts were wider than the FD specific model. And no you cannot move the post mounts on the wing wider.

Kognition spoilers are much better in quality, I've seen videos of APR's fly off at 140mph+. APR's are good spoilers though for the money, good quality carbon and a lot better than what is out there.

That looks like either an authentic RE-A GT wing or one of the replicas which were made of them. Hard to tell without seeing a side view but the supports don't look like the APR supports.

can someone point me towards a good resource to learn about some wing tech? i'm thirsty for some knowledge.

the club i run with has no restrictions. so, bigger/higher = better? should i go dual element since it's allowed? 2d? 3d? never had a gt **** before...

ken, can you show me a pic of the supports?

i have a close connection with origin usa, i wonder how an origin wing compares to an apr wing. also, where's that kognition vs apr data?

thanks

+1 I've also heard nothing but good things about Kognition wings. As far as I know, they don't make a mount for the FD though.
