Apexi Intake - Correct?

To make a story short, i had to get an aftermarket intake because the stock air box wouldn't fit corectly anymore (because hte samco coolant hose was higher than it was supposed to so the groove in the bottom wouldn't fit).

I liked the way apexi's intake looked so i went and got it.

There are 3 hose connections on one intake and 1 on another (2 for blowoff valve and 2 for air pump)

I still have the air pump but im on a non-sequential setup. So i taped the two for the air pump into the upper intake filter and put the 1 blowoff valve into the same one leaving the bottom open.

My Blowoff valve wasn't connected before (just vent to atmosphere) but i decided to connect it this time.

Should i connect one of the hose lines into the bottom filter? if so? which one. Because i'm non sequential i'm not 100% sure. Also, wondering if it matters if i vent to atmosphere or vent back into the intake.

I also just flushed and refilled my coolant.

So the problem is that im not sure if i placed the hose lines correctly... car runs a little jumpier and backfired a lot more.. rev was a little not so happy after letting off the gas...

I let her run for about 5-10 minutes.

Here are some pictures to show what im talking about. Oh and With or W/out the black stock plastic piece?

Thanks!

Doesn't matter in the slightest as to what hose connects where as far as functionality. Just as long as it's aesthetically good and the hoses reach and fit properly.

You can run an FD with no intake whatsoever and the car will run fine. It'll suck all kinds of crap into the engine, but it will run fine.
