apex seals blown?

here it goes... i was having trouble with my boost controller and it boosted to 14 psi. nothing bad seemed to happen, and after that i was running 8 psi, because of the stupid controller being lame. the car ran fine, pulled normal for 8psi. i shut the car off and the next morning i start it and it idles like ****, and sounds funny, i go for a drive and like zero power. it hesitates and puckers. its not the map sensor, i checked that. the plug wires havent been changed in 2 years and have alot of miles on them. but can they just go out all of a sudden? the plugs arent very old. my vacuum is running really low...so im thinking maybe a vacuum leak...if its an apex seal will that cause the vacuum to drop? the car doesnt smoke at all. it almost feels like its only running off one side, but i dunno. i did a compression test and it went up to 90psi, i didnt have a special tester just a cheapo one. and i didnt note the rpm it was tested at, but both chambers were right around 90 psi, and seemed to make the same on all 3 sides. with a blown apex seals what kinda symptoms will it have? will it run? what does the compression look like? does it smoke? does the vacuum drop super low? like to 5? please help, and ill go do more investigating.

A good compression test will tell you if the motor is good - then it's time to look elsewhere for your problem.

I've always used a cheap compression tester from Autozone. Hold the release button in while testing and look for the three "poofs" of the needle going up and down. If you see high, low, low, high, low, low, that's a blown apex seal.

Test both rotors as well.

If the engine's good, time to tear into everything else. New plugs, make sure the MAP sensor is hooked up, make sure there's no codes, etc.
