parts needed for injector reinstallment?

well i have a fuel leak around my primary injectors. so i pulled both the primaries and secondaries out, including the fuel rails.

i need to know what to replace.

the injectors are still in the fuel reals.

on the primaries, when i pulled the fuel rail out, there were two rubber o rings around the injector housing on the fuel rail that goes in the block, and there was some kind of seat inside the holes on the block, but it was tore up and rotted, and than that long metal piece with holes in the bottom, that was actually in the block, i think its called the diffuser?

so the parts here i need are two o rings, two rubber seats, and two diffusers, right?

on the secondaries, they are still in the fuel real also, and there were no o rings on the fuel rail housing, but there were two rubber seats, and the diffusers.

so the parts i need here are two rubber seats, and two diffusers, what about the o rings?

do i need to take the injectors out of the housings and replace anything?

plus, one of my primary injectors, has a small crack on the very top, from heat, and i looks like some one try to pry it out, right below where the harness clip goes into the injetor, could fuel leak there?

thanks so much in advance, my car was on the verge of a engine fire, fuel was all over the block, please help i dont want to put it back together wrong or over look anything

O-Rings Small NF01-13-ZG3 4
O-Rings Big NF01-13-ZG4 4
O-Ring Diffusers 9954-10-1252 4

Injector Insulators NF01-13-257A 2
Injector Insulators N3A1-13-257 2

you need to take the injectors out of the fuel rails carefully. there are two o-rings on each injector that need to be replaced. then replace the injector insulators that were torn up on yours. remove the diffusers that you identified correctly out of the block and lower intake manifold (one for each injector) and replace the rubber o-ring on each of thse. the 3rd gen parts diagram does not show these but they are a 2nd gen part. be careful removing the old hard o-rings from the diffusers because the diffusers are especially fragile. also, when reinstalling the injectors into the rails oil up the o-rings to everything slide in easily and uniformly.

the crack in the injector could be the leak. my car had 115k miles and both sets of injectors were leaking by then. if you can afford it i would at least replace the primaries depending on how many miles they have. i would venture to guess it is the injectors leaking and not the o-rings especially if it is a small puddle of fuel on the block.

think about replacing the fpr and fuel hoses while you're in there.

ok i just pulled the injectors out of the rails.

secondaries look good, the end where the fuel comes out has some sut on it, and there is a very small crack in the plastic cap on the end of one.

primaries are in bad shape, the one that had the crack on top, broke when i pulled it out, the plastic piece on top is about 60% gone, but he harness connector is still intact, is this garbage now?

the other primary had the cap on the end completely cracked, it remained in the fuel rail when i pulled it out, is this one garbage?

looks like both primaries where leaking past the orings.

thanks for reading

The primary one that is cracked on top is garbage, at the least. Since the leak was coming from the primaries, I would go ahead and buy both of them. Especially if you are still sequential and have all the selonoids and lines in the way, which make its hard to check for leaks after installation. You can prolly find a used set of primaries (like a set out of a 96-02) from one of the guys in Japan, like DRAGON. Prolly cost around $100 for the pair.
If the secondaries where not leaking, I suggest sending them off to be cleaned and balanced. RC enginering cleans them plus puts on new
o rings and pintle caps for $25 per injector.
Or you could just go all out and buy a new fuel system, rails upgraded injectors, fpr, etc....

yeah, like the guys above me said get new primaries. those things sound like they are toast. the pintle cap for the secondaries can be bought at mazdatrix.com i believe. the primaries ones are not available anywhere but RC anyways and the injectors have to be machined a little bit. i did this and they sent them back and there were leaking! don't know how they could clean them, put on new pintle caps, and not know they would leak in my car.

just buy the new primaries etc. and get the car running. if something is still leaking afterwards then it's probably the secondaries which are much easier to get at than the primaries as you know. fix everything you can while you are down there. good luck.
